Grant Fagan is the most successful Tasmanian coach of the last 20 years with a coaching role in five statewide premierships for the Clarence Roos. He was a player at North Hobart and Sandy Bay who commenced coaching at country level with Kingston, with whom he won the 1992 Huon Association title. Fagan commenced his coaching career at the highest level as assistant and bench coach under Stevie Wright as the Roos commenced their ascension with state league premierships in 1993 and 1994. His greatest achievement was as head coach of the Roos for the 1996, 1997 and 2000 Tasmanian state league titles. Fagan went on to assist the Tasmanian talented player pathway teams in later years.
