Lance Crosswell was an extremely fast and clever centreman who could not commence his senior career until his twenty-fourth year because of World War Two. Crosswell played one season with Longford after leaving Launceston at the end of 1953. He also played and coached Campbell Town, winning the club and league best and fairest in 1955.
